In the past, we've talked about ad placements that are prone to generate invalid clicks. In a past post, for example, Mike noted that publishers should be careful about placing ads too close to navigational controls or other clickable page elements.

It's in the best interest of the user, advertiser, and publisher to avoid implementations that lead to invalid click activity. As you can imagine, users aren't very happy if they accidentally click an ad instead of a link on your page and are directed away from your site. Advertisers also don’t want to be charged for a click that a user made accidentally (though of course we do not charge advertisers for invalid clicks that we detect). And why should publishers care? Well, if we see that most of the clicks coming from your pages are invalid, we may need to disable your account to protect our advertisers.

One type of site we wanted to talk about are Flash-based game sites. Playing games on these sites, you'll notice that ads are often placed very close to the Flash player where the game is played. Publishers may reason that they're providing maximum value to advertisers by placing their ads very close to the area where their users are focused. However, many of these Flash games are played with a mouse, and the action in the games can lead users to do a lot of rapid cursor movements and clicking. We've seen many cases where ads were placed too closely to where the action was taking place, generating many accidental clicks.

Since each game and site are unique, we can't advise publishers on an exact distance between ads and games, but we do recommend a minimum distance of 150 pixels between the Flash player and ads.

Back in August, we announced plans to give publishers the ability to allow multiple Google-certified ad networks to compete for display ad space on your site. While this feature was initially available only to publishers located in North America and Europe, we're happy to announce that all publishers will now have access to these participating ad networks.

Allowing these ad networks to compete for your display ad space means that more ads will be eligible to appear on your pages, leading to potentially higher earnings in the long run. Our system will show the ads that will generate you the most profit, whether they're from these Google-certified ad networks or the AdWords program. As a reminder, all Google-certified ad networks are required to adhere to our standards for user privacy, ad quality, and speed. In addition, you can use the controls in your Ad Review Center to specify which ad networks can appear on your pages.

Finally, some ad networks use tools similar to Google's interest-based advertising to show more relevant ads to users on the sites they visit. Earlier this year we simplified the process for monetizing your blog by adding a “Monetize” tab in the Blogger app. We started with AdSense, which allows you to add contextual advertising to your pages; more recently we added AdSense for Feeds to help you generate revenue from the distribution of your blog via RSS and Atom. Today we launched a third option: direct integration with Amazon Associates to search Amazon’s product catalog and add links to products that earn you commissions when your readers buy products you recommend.

With this feature, you can search Amazon directly from the Blogger editor and add pictures and links to Amazon products right into your posts. Your readers will earn you commissions whenever they buy the products you recommend, and if you don’t already have an Amazon Associates account, you can sign up for one for free without leaving Blogger.

If you’ve ever written a blog post about a book, recommended a gadget, or reviewed a toy you bought for your kids, you’ve likely gone through the process of drafting the post, opening up a separate window to go to find a site that sells the product, then going back to Blogger to paste the link to the product into the post editor.

Starting today, you can search the Amazon product catalog without leaving the Blogger interface and insert links to the products you find into your posts. Is Google Fair to AdSense Publishers?

There has been much discussion lately on blogs, forums and even the AdSense Support Forum from publishers reporting that they've seen some pretty big drops in AdSense revenues.

By now, everyone should know about the global economic crisis and there's no denying that the US is in a recession. Advertising gets hit hard during a recession and many publishers are taking notice.

I decided to take a look at numbers Google files with the SEC related to it's advertising and AdSense in particular to see what's going on. I've included some charts to help interpret the data. The last quarterly report filed was in September and the annual report hasn't been filed yet. I'll revisit this subject when it does.

From what I've seen, Google seems to be very fair to it's publishers in some ways, maybe could improve in some other areas but most importantly, there might be cause for concern if you rely on your AdSense revenue in these tough times.

How much does Google keep from AdSense clicks?

This is likely different from publisher to publisher, especially when it comes to those that get invited to be premier publishers and can negotiate their own terms, but Google does list the revenue generated by AdSense and how much goes to the AdSense publishers in their SEC filings. The chart on the right shows the publishers share in red and Google's share in blue.

Over the past 4 years, Goolge has paid out an average of just over 80% to AdSense publishers. Beofre they were only giving publishers a little less than 80%. Considering the infrastructure and the quality of their targeting, that seems like a good deal. If you have a website with significant traffic that appeals to advertisers, you could do better with directly selling ads yourself, but even big publishers use AdSense because the small percentage they take is justified by the time saved. Big publishers likely have negotiated better terms and from reading the 10-Q statements, it seems that some publishers even have guaranteed payments defined in their contracts.

Google has been taking a smaller cut from AdSense

If you look close at the chart Google has been taking a smaller cut from AdSense in the past 4 quarters. 88% in the first two and 89% in the last two have gone to publishers. That may seem like good news at first read, but consider again that publishers have been seeing decreased revenue even with the increase in share. We also don't know how evenly that increase was distributed. It could have gone to all the premier publishers to meet contractual obligations or it could have gone to only regular publishers to help offset declining cost per click.

The good news is that Google seems to be willing to soften the blow to publishers a bit. Maybe they think this will only be temporary, until things calm down but many economists aren't expecting a quick economic recovery. Regardless, that's a nearly $120 million dollar hit they took to either keep publishers from bailing or to honor their contracts.

One of the things I've read in most of the quarterly reports is that advertising revenue is increasing due to increase clicks and not because of the increased price per click. If you want to keep your AdSense revenue up, you need to keep getting more traffic and more clicks.

Does Google keep the Good Advertisers to Themselves?

I've seen people ask this different places. This next chart shows what Google earns in advertising revenue from it's own sites in blue, the total revenue generated by Google Network web sites (AdSense publishers) in red, and the revenue share for publishers in yellow. Values are in thousands.

As you can see, ad revenue on Google's own sites has been climbing regularly while AdSense revenues haven't been growing as fast and have actually leveled off the last 2 quarters. In the first two quarters of 2004, AdSense publishers generated more revenue than Google did on their own sites. Now Google brings in twice as much revenue from their own sites.

I don't agree with few of below points as mentioned by John Chow.

#1) The CPM’s are Weak

Yes CPM’s are dropping everywhere and the days of $50CPM are distant memories, but the CPM’s with AdSense always seem to be low. Why is it that the CPM’s suck if you are publisher, and the CPC are so high when you are on the other side as an advertiser? Oh yah, they have a market cap of $175,000,000,000. Yes that is 175 billion with 9 zeros. Why don’t they share publicly what percentage of the revenue they actually give to the publishers? Can you think of a reason why they would hide this? Every single ad Network and every single affiliate company in the world tells you what percentage payout they give you. Google is the only one that doesn’t. What kind of partner, doesn’t share that information with you? It should be illegal not to disclose.

#2) They Look Like Crap

This one is baffling more than anything. How can a company with over 20,000 employees not come up with a banner that looks more ascetically pleasing to the eye? The customizations are weak. Colors and rounded corners? Come on G, come up with slick looking ads! Even the Graphic ads, have the self promotion, ‘Ads by Google’ that makes them look ugly. Do you really need to advertise AdSense more? Thousands of top bloggers have pulled them off their site for the simple reason of how bad they look on their site, and you should too if you want your site to look more professional.

#3) Inverse Relationship to Revenue

After meeting and talking to hundreds of site owners over the years and meeting folks who say they either make money or don’t make money off AdSense, I come to this conclusion. AdSense revenue is inversely related to the quality of your content. If you have great content, readers are going to stick around your site and read more but if you content quality is weak they are going to keep looking elsewhere and click on the Google Ads with the keywords of what they are really looking for. So if you have keyword rich weak content, you will actually make more money with AdSense.

#4) PSA’s

Also known as Public Service Ads, these ads show up when Google can’t find a match for your site, and they normally only show up when you have the default set to display only graphical ads. OK, I can be as charitable as the next guy, but not only do you not make any money off these ads, they look like crap. I’ve yet to see a nicely designed PSA. Here is a tip to all you charities out there, hire a professional designer, or get a professional graphic designer to ‘donate’ his services and get some nice looking banner ads designed. Otherwise, keep those lousy PSA’s off my site.

#5) Anyone is Approved

This is the biggest joke with AdSense and the reason that the web is filled with millions of completely useless shitty sites. AdSense is the cause. Yes, the biggest search engine in the world, the folks who pride themselves on “helping your organize information” is the #1 culprit of enabling anyone to create a crap site and make money off it. Anyone can put up a website, plagiarize, steal and copy content and then slap on AdSense ads to potentially make a few bucks. Almost every single ad network in the world has some type of approval process and quality control, but not AdSense, everyone is welcome. Why? Google’s revenue is the ultimate long tail and those hundreds of millions of spammers are all soldiers in Google’s revenue army, all splogging and generating pennies that add up to billions.

#6) It Makes You Lazy

AdSense is a crutch for the lazy publisher. It is kind of like crack cocaine, when you get a small taste of it, you keep coming back for more, even when you know it is bad for you. You think, oh well, at least it is some money. I never hear anyone saying. OMG, I am making a killing off AdSense on my ONE site! The few bucks you get a month keeps you on a drip feed life support so you don’t go out and sell your own ads.

#7) They keep your Money

This is one of the things that really irks me with Google and should make you mad too. How many millions of dollars of other people’s money do they have in the bank that they will never pay out? They used to have a lower payouts lever and now it needs to be $100. I guarantee that there are litterly millions of small publishers with super low traffic that will NEVER hit the minimum payout level and just give up or remove it from their site. What happens to this money? Google keeps it. Hmm? I’m guessing that the guy in the 3rd world country with the $38 dollars sitting idle in his account needs the money more than they do? They should be forced to pay out all monies owning to small site owners!

Enough is enough. Let’s convince Google to disclose what percentage of your revenue they keep and force them to pay out all monies owed to small site owners.

Beware of Phishing Attack on Google Adsense accounts

With all of the talk about Adsense users finding their accounts disabled lately, users should be aware of a phishing scam playing on Adsense clients’ greatest fear: losing their account.

Today I received an email purporting to be from Google telling me my account was disabled. And frankly, it’s the closest I’ve ever come to falling for a phishing attempt. That’s partly do to circumstance and partly because the scam is fairly well done.

On the circumstance side, I had an unusually high number of clicks on one of my sites yesterday. It seemed to good to be true, so I was afraid something was amiss.

On the scam side, the phishers appear to have copied an actual email Google uses to inform users their accounts have been disabled. Or at least something very close. There’s no broken English. Here’s what it says:

Hello,

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense
account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since
keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our
advertisers in the future, we’ve decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the
interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We
realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance
for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we’ve taken,
please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by
visiting
https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=57153.

The email came from adsense-adclicks-noreply@google.com, which apparently is a real Google email address that it uses to contact customers, at least according to a couple blog posts. (Surprisingly, Gmail didn’t warn me that the email was actually sent from someone other than the return address like it usually does. But it did put the message in my spam folder.)

But there are a few problems with the email. First, there’s no email address in the ‘to’ line. Second, it just addresses me as “hello”, rather than a name.

Also complete the signup for Flixya.

It is a proven and tested method to get your Google Adsense ID without having a blog or website. Now, you will have to wait for adsense account approval it will take 4-5 days to get it approved.

Step 2: Make your first blog using Blogger.com

Blogs are the online diaries or journals which anyone can use to publish his/her own choice content. The content can be any article, picture, videos etc. There are several platform where you can make your own blog but Blogger.com provides the simplest method to create a blog and it is most commonly used for this purpose.

By the time you get your Google Adsense ID’s approval, you can make your plan about creating a profitable blog. Remember, if you are not planning it means you are planning to fail. Instead of creating a blog on the topic which you are not familiar with, create a blog for which you are passionate about. 1. Click on the Monetize button (Make sure you are logged in to your blogger account and you have selected the blog where you can see the Monetize button)

2. Choose Display ads in my sidebar and posts (and click next)

3. Enter your PIN (i.e. gmail id and postal code or last 5 digits of phone numbers)

Note:- You can also integrate your adsense account with blogger through Layout >> Page Element >> Add a Gadget >> Adsense and again you can mention your email and PIN to get new ads by Google in your blog.

There is no better way of learning blogging tips and tricks than learning it directly from the blogging Gurus. When we talk about Gurus of Blogging in Pakistan, the first few names which comes into my mind must include Haris Nadeem. Google Pakistan and CIO had been showcasing Haris Nadeem in their bloggers meetups as a role model and inspiration for new bloggers because of his brilliant achievements in Blogging at a very short span of time.

Haris Nadeem is included in Top 30 Earning Bloggers Globally and he is also listed in Top Young Bloggers List.

I have also approached him for an interview but recently PakCrunch guys i.e. Imran Hassan and Umair Khan Jadoon took the lead and they took a wonderful interview at CIOWebstudio, which you can watch it here as well.

In this post, I would also review Haris Nadeem’s blog i.e. SizzledCore.com and share some of its statistics and tactics. If you have a close look at its home page, you will notice that it has a very beautifully designed eye-catching logo right on top which creates a good positive image of his blog at first glance. The home page shows five recent posts with “Read More” option with a lot of white space so that the reader can easily go through the summary of all five posts without getting distracted by any Google Adsense Ad except for a search bar at the right column.

The tactic here is clear, that he doesn’t wants to let the readers leave so early, by clicking on the Google Adsense ad. He want’s his readers to explore more about his blog and for that matter he has provided two column list of 24 categories at the right side but no recent posts option.

The right side of his home page also have options to subscribe via email, twitter, and facebook. He has mentioned the importance of social networking sites and he is spot on here by providing an option to Become A Fan on Facebook. You’ll notice a deliberate blank space right below the Facebook Become a Fan option till the bottom side of his Blog because he doesn’t want to look overcrowded with so many options. Although, a Google Friend Connect could easily be added right below the Facebook Become a Fan box with no harm at all.

As soon as you either click on one of the five latest post or the categories provided at the home page, you will notice two large rectangle 336×280 ads, one at the top, below the headline and the other one at the end of every post. These are the two most possible earning spots where he is making a lot of money apart from search bar and link units at the top.

If you check out it’s statistics at Alexa.com you’ll notice that his blog is getting around 20,000 visitors per day which is the key here to make money. As he also mentioned in his interview that earning is directly proportional to traffic, which simply means “More Traffic=More Money”.

YouTube Adds AdSense-like Revenue Sharing

Launched late last year, YouTube’s Promoted Videos program allows publishers to place bids for keywords in order to achieve placement on relevant YouTube search results pages, similar to Google’s auction mechanism for publishers via AdWords.

Until now, the Promoted Videos only showed up alongside those search results as well as periodically on the YouTube homepage. But YouTube just closed the loop by adding Promoted Videos to related partner watch pages in the Related Videos section, adding an AdSense analogy to the revenue-sharing equation.

With the new change, now Promoted Videos are contextually matched to YouTube partner watch pages (simply YouTube’s term for an individual video’s page) based on the content of the video and text on the page, giving publishers an extra promotional boost on video pages that are naturally related to the audience’s interest.

The new system also shares with AdSense its revenue-sharing power: both the publisher of the Promoted Video and the partner whose page it appears on will share a cut of the advertising money with YouTube. The net effect is to make the Promoted Videos program more effective overall by making its videos visible not just on active search results pages but on passively related partner pages as well.

The Promoted Videos show up in the Related Videos column in the right sidebar, clearly delineated with a yellow background and a text tag. It’s a relatively small change with big implications for publishers making use of the Promoted Videos program, who will now benefit from the increased exposure to their videos. What is google adsense and where to put it?

No matter what type of website you have, whether it is a content driven site, an affiliate site, a site that you sell your own products on or anything else, you should definitely be using Google Adsense to generate extra money. From experience, I know several webmasters out there who generate over $4000.00 a day! Yes a day, from using Google adsense on their sites. This is a must for any webmaster.

Let me first explain what Google Adsense is. I’m sure you’ve seen those google ads everywhere on the internet that say “Ads by Gooooooogle” on them. Just about every website you see out there today has used them simply because they are so easy to use and can make anyone rich.

How do these ads work? I’m sure you are asking yourself that question. Well Google is the leading internet marketing site online, and continues to grow at a very quick rate. Anyone that owns a website that follows Googles guidelines can advertise in Google’s Adwords Program. How this system works is that you as a webmaster decide to pay a certain amount of money to google for every click someone makes to go to your site. These ads are shown on both google’s search engine results, and on other webmasters sites who use Google Adsense. Basically every time an ad is clicked, the webmaster who is advertising has to pay google the amount he bid for that keyword.

If a visitor visits your site and clicks on an ad from google adsense, you get approximately 40-60% of what that advertiser is paying to Google. For example if the advertiser is paying Google $3.00 per click for his keyword, and that ad shows up on your site, and is clicked, you end up getting approximately $1.50. You might think that $3.00 is a heck of a lot of money to pay for one single click, but there are actually companies, individuals, lawyers etc who pay as much as $200 per click. Ok so how do you start? Simply go to http://adsense.google.com to apply for their program. Once you are accepted (most sites are), you will be able to login, and generate a simple javascript code that you place on your website just by copy and pasting it into the position you want. colors you would like for your ads. Once you have created an account, there are several things you must decide.

First of all the way google adsense selects which ads appear on your site, is that they send out a search engine type robot that scans your site (and the pages on your site) to determine what each page is about. For example if you have a page on your site about “Banking”,the ads that you put on your site will most likely be about “Banking”. Google does this to help you get the best clickthru rate possible. After all they want you to make money, because the more you make, the more they make.

Positioning Your Ads Correctly

Something that a lot of webmasters (most of them) don’t know about Google adsense is that if you use more then one ad block, you have to be aware of how the system decides where to put the highest paying ads. From many tests that I’ve done, I’ve found that those ads that are the highest up on your site are the ads that will have the highest bid prices. Also on top of this, if you are using a table to seperate your site in a neat manner, the system will put those ads that are worth the most in the cells that are closest to the top left hand corner of the table.

So for example if you have a table on your site, simply to make a nice looking side bar on the left hand side of your page, the google ads that you put in that left hand side bar will be valued higher then those put in the main section of the page (even if the ones in the side bar are at the bottom).

What does all this mean? Well you obviously want to put the highest paying ads in a spot where you will get the most clicks. What I love to do when using a content based website is put my ads in between paragraphs, so that the reader has to see them. Since I want the highest paying ads there, I would not put an ad on the very top of the site. That would just decrease the value of the ads that are located in the prime position (between paragraphs).

If you have multiple paragraphs, the best way to position your ads would be to put them all between paragraphs. If your content is only 1 paragraph long, then I suggest putting an ad at the very top of the paragraph right under the header, and another ad at the very bottom of the article.

If you are not into the idea of breaking up your text with Google ads, then do this simple task. Go to the webpage that you are considering adding adsense to, Observe where your eyes go first, then ask a friend to do the same thing. Most likely both of you will find that your eyes go in the same general area. This is the area where your adsense ads should go. Selecting The Right Colors

Selecting the right colors for your Google Adsense ads is very valuable as well. There are times you want the ads to stand out and there are other times that you want them to blend in with your content. Usually if you are putting ads within paragraphs I suggest making the background color of the ad match the background color of the rest of your site. This will ensure the most clickthrus as the ads tend to appear as if they are links provided by you about the topic. The key is to make the ads look like part of your content rather then advertisements. If you are putting ads on the top of your site above the article, or on a side bar to the left or right hand side of the article, I usually recommend making these ads stand out as much as possible. Bright colors are great even if it might contrast heavily with your site. Contrast is the key in this situation. Make sure you change the colors of the links so that they are readable on the new background you set for your ads.

Google lets other ad networks in on AdSense

Google's popular AdSense program will soon be open to other ad networks, allowing multiple parties to compete for display ad space on publisher websites.

Certified third-party networks will be able to bid in auctions to appear on AdSense sites, which will help publishers generate the most profit from every ad on their sites, according to a post on the company's Inside AdSense blog. Currently, Google serves ads from advertisers who bid on keywords using the company's AdWords tool.

Google did not name any of the partner ad networks, but said all networks must be certified first, and publishers will be given the ability to opt out of displaying ads from any -- or all -- of the networks.

Partner networks will be allowed to serve ads based on behavioral targeting, but will not be able to retain any data for future advertising, according to Google.

Mechanical Turk is a great way to make some extra cash. You probably won’t make much more than a few dollars an hour, but it’s also dead simple to complete many of the tasks. Don’t just randomly fire off articles, however; have a plan and, preferably, a contact at the publication you wish to submit to. 6. Transcribe audio files.

Make sure you know how to transcribe interviews before you start your first job.

7. Become a virtual assistant (VA).

There are entire books written on how to become a virtual assistant, so this job is definitely worthy of more research. My advice: Focus on one niche (I just hired Lisa Morosky of VA for Bloggers, for instance.) Also, reach out to potential customers directly and let them know what you can do for them instead of hitting up freelance web sites. Finally, you may want to consider resources such as AssistU, which provides training for up-and-coming virtual assistants.

8. Write articles on eHow.com.

If you understand the basics of keyword research, you can make a good monthly income from eHow. eHow pays you a percentage of the ad revenue they make from each “How to” article you create. You can crank out a few articles a day with relative ease. Try this for a month; assuming your article titles match up with what people are searching for in Google, you can make a significant income. 9. Do some videos to promote affiliate products.

Enjoy making silly videos? Even short, silly videos can sell products online. If your video is funny, informative, or useful, you may sell some products. Happy customers whose problem is solved, and money for you — a win-win situation! Caveat: It may be tough to find a real desperate buyer niche (Alexis reveals some in her case study). Here are some hints: When were you last in a situation where information would have either saved you a lot of money or a lot of pain? We're now happy to announce the launch of a related feature you've been asking for -- the ability to change the font size of the text in your ad units. You can now select from small, medium, and large font sizes for ad units on pages in Latin-character languages. Just like with the current font face options, size options appear in every account but will only be applied to ad units on pages primarily in Latin-based characters for now.

The font size you choose will be applied to the body of the ad, with the title scaled appropriately. In order to fit the ad text correctly, the actual font size will vary for each format size, font face, and user-specific settings such as browsers and operating systems. Though article submission is a very generic marketing strategy, something that you should know is how your submitted article is used by these sites. One time article submission with a single instance linking back to your website is the cleanest and safest approach. This is something that not many prefers and if done so, it can attract penalty from search engines such as Google in terms of page rank downgrades. Keep track of your backlinks and analyze traffic originated from the article submission exercise to pick the right submission site for your needs
Once the submission is approved, you must keep track of the comments received and reply them promptly just like you would do at your own sites. This would give better traffic prospects and ratings

Google’s policy
Each AdSense publisher receives a percentage of the cost an advertiser pays for user clicks or impressions on their ad. This percentage is referred to as the revenue share. Google does not disclose the revenue share for AdSense.

To protect your Adsense Publisher ID you can now specify which sites are allowed to have your adsense code. If a site is not in that list and adsense ads are displayed there, then no earnings will come to you and any clickbombing or site violation in that site will not affect your account’s good standing.

If you are suspicious of a site’s standing with Google, do not give them your Adsense Publisher ID (pub-#########). However, if you look at the source code on any Adsense Publisher’s site, you can see the Adsense Publisher ID (it’s not a secret!)
If you already did, you can now block that url from being included in your Adsense revenue within the Adsense Options menu.

I'll get to the sites in just a moment. But first, a bit of inspiration. I earn about $1,500 a month on the internet, and I expect that amount to grow. It's not enough to fully support me and my family, but it's a nice supplement to my real-world income.

You're not likely to see that kind of income anytime soon, but by building up your online presence, you can make it happen over time. Here are the best online money-makers that I know of.

Content
You may already be familiar the money-making opportunities at a site like Associated Content. Contributors to the site provide the content, AC provides the platform and audience, and everyone shares in the revenue generated, mostly from ads.

The content in question can be just about anything that can be posted on the internet: articles (like this one), blogs, photos, music, videos, artwork. The cooler it is, and the more traffic it generates, the more you're going to collect. Best of all, it's not just a one-time payment, but an "evergreen" source of income that will continue to pay, much as a book author continues to get royalties. A single posting might bring in a dollar or two a month, but that can add up surprisingly quickly.

Some of the best pay-for-content sites are:
Associated Content, where you can post just about anything (but no adult or offensive content, please) and get paid for the content's 'performance' and even collect additional income from a variety of bonuses and exclusive content arrangements.

Creative Weblogging. Blogs only at this site. Get accepted as a blog editor, make a minimum of three posts every week, and collect at least $84 per month.

If you have a particular talent that can be practiced on the web, then there are plenty of folks in need of your service as a freelancer. Freelance sites are heavy on offers to hire programmers, website designers, graphic artists, copy writers, photographers, and videographers, to name the most popular. But pretty much anything that can be transacted over the internet is up for grabs. Pay can be pretty decent, but keep in mind that you're competing against freelancers the world over, where payscales can be a lot tougher.

There is more to knowing how to use Google AdSense to make money than just placing a few Adsense blocks on some of your websites. That is fine if you want to make a few dollars a month from your website for little effort, and get a $100 check sent to you every now and again, but not if you want to make more substantial money than that.

If you are designing a site specifically for Adsense, you must first find a suitable niche with good keywords that people are paying substantial amounts for in the Google Adwords program. That is because it is the Google Adwords adverts that are used by Google on your Adsense site. If there is a fair number of high cost clicks in your niche, then you have a good chance of these appearing on your website.

Be prepared to design a decent website that people are going to want to visit, since adsense or not, it will be difficult to get your website listed on Google if your site has a low level of relevance to the search terms, or keywords, used by people using Google for their search. There is little point in using Google Adwords to advertise a site monetized only with Google Adsense! If you are selling popular products, then the Adsense might just pay for your Adwords campaign, but it is very unlikely. The best combination is a reasonably expert site, with some products or services offered, and also some Adsense blocks.

Some pages on your site could consist of articles with accompanying Adsense blocks, and others of sales pages offering your products or services without the distraction of Adsense. You should not place Adsense on your sales pages or squeeze pages because that will distract visitors to your page, and once they click on the Adsense ad, they will be off. Adsense should ideally have a page to itself, where it doesn’t matter if the prospect leaves or not. By then you should have offered them your opt-in page.

Your niche rarely matters since most niches have a range of high and low prices. What matters is designing a page round each of the keywords you want to use. Once you have a list of keywords - say 20 or thirty plus, then enter each one into it

To find the better Adsense keywords, enter your keyword into the Google KeywordToolExternal and check the Adwords prices the tool provides you with. Do that with each of your keywords and select those that cost most. Your income per click will be related to the cost per click paid by the advertiser. Once you have selected your keywords, then write information pages based on each of the keywords, and optimize each page for the relevant keyword.

It is important that your visitors see a professional looking website, containing useful content and information. Offer some products if you can, and if your visitors do not see anything they want they will have the option of clicking on an Adsense ad. Hence you can make money in two ways. You visitors will prefer it that your site offers more than just a page full of adverts as many Adsense sites do.

Google, however, are slowly working their way through such websites and dropping them from the listings. This will not happen to your site if it provides good content relevant to the keyword of each page. At least this is true unless you are copying content, in which case your web page might never see the light of day. Many web pages are generated automatically by software that can be generating exactly the same pages for other users as it is for you. You should write your own content or have it written for you by a professional ghost writer that will not offer your work to anybody else.

And the solution is Using META Tags in your blog. Very few bloggers are aware of the power of META TAGS you might have heard it before but might have never tried it..... Its really simple.

Without going into the nitty gritty of the META TAGS.I’ll show you how to insert Meta tags in your Blogger. It’s pretty straight forward. First go to ‘Layout’, then ‘Edit HTML’ and look for the following line of code.

Insert the following Meta contents after the above line of code.

Replace ‘your description’ by your own blog brief description. Try not to exceed 150 characters as search engines will ignore them.

Replace ‘your keywords’ by several of your keywords. You can put as many as you wish but remember to insert a comma in order to separate each and every keyword inserted.
